How is CYCC different from the traditional pediatric primary care clinic?

Most traditional pediatric practices provide care to both children and adolescents. CYCC will also care for children less than 10 years, however, we are intentional to create a health space that will be more adolescent-centered and youth-friendly. Adolescents are more likely to engage in their healthcare if clinic decor, policies and practices appeal to them in relevant ways that provide respect, connectedness, clear communication and privacy.

How will I pay for services?

We care for patients who are insured, underinsured, or uninsured. If you wish to use insurance or have high deductibles, we do accept Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield, United Healthcare, Tricare, and Humana. You are responsible for co-pays and other services not covered by insurance. We accept cash, credit card but we do not accept checks for payment.

What if I don’t have insurance?

You can pay a fee for service or join our direct primary care membership to pay a low monthly fee, less than the cost of a cell phone bill. There is more evidence that having insurance does not always guarantee affordable and accessible medical care. The benefit of using a direct primary care membership is that we offer a flat rate with inclusive services that help reduce the need for emergency care.

When I enroll to schedule an appointment, why does the form ask for credit card information?

In addition to caring for patient well-being, we want patients to feel secure in how we conduct business! While we accept cash payments, we hope to reduce any potential risks associated with processing credit cards in the clinic by allowing patients to enter financial information personally if desired through the enrollment link. If you choose to defer entering any credit card info, please call the clinic for a care team member to enroll you/your child. When patients register credit cards for DPC membership fees or to pay out-of-pocket costs for services provided through insurance, no payments are authorized until a visit is complete (in-person or telehealth). We do our best to offer honest price transparency to patients/caregivers with itemized billing for visits and orders performed at CYCC. We are not responsible for prices set at outside facilities but support families to coordinate the most valuable approach for their care.

Disclaimer: Centered Youth Clinic and Consulting is NOT insurance and should not be a replacement for a health insurance plan. Patients may have insurance to cover catastrophic illnesses or more advanced diagnostic procedures and specialist care. We recommend pairing a high deductible insurance plan with our direct primary care plan for cost-effective medical care.
