Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to common questions, helping youth and families feel informed, confident, and supported in their care

How is CYCC different from the traditional pediatric primary care clinic?

Most traditional pediatric practices provide care to both children and adolescents. CYCC will also care for children less than 10 years, however, we are intentional to create a health space that will be more adolescent centered and youth-friendly. Adolescents are more likely to engage in their healthcare if clinic decor, policies and practices appeal to them in relevant ways that provide respect, connectedness, clear communication and developmentally-appropriate privacy for sensitive health matters.

What is direct primary care?

What insurances do you accept?

We currently work with: BlueCross BlueShield, UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, Humana, Aetna, Curative, and others. Plan participation can change—please have your member ID ready when you call so we can help you check.

We’re happy to bill your insurance when eligible. Coverage varies by plan, so we encourage you to confirm benefits before your visit.

How can I pay for services?

We care for patients who are insured, underinsured, or uninsured. We do not accept Medicaid at this time.

Low monthly memberships offer unlimited visits when you are well or have a problem, as well as discounts on labs and select minor procedures. Contact us for more details.

We accept cash, credit card but we do not accept checks for payment.

What if I don't have insurance?

You can pay a fee for service or join our direct primary care membership to pay a low monthly fee, less than the cost of a cell phone bill. The benefit of using a direct primary care membership is that we offer a flat rate with inclusive services.

If I have insurance, how much will it cost for an appointment?

There is more evidence that having insurance does not always guarantee affordable and accessible medical care. The benefits of using a direct primary care model is that we offer a flat rate with inclusive services that help reduce the need for emergency care. If you wish to use insurance or have high deductibles, we do accept Aetna, BlueCross Blueshield, United Healthcare, Cigna and Humana.

Per your plan, you’re responsible for co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, and any services not covered by insurance. We’ll provide a clear estimate whenever possible.

Verify your benefits

A quick call to your insurance can prevent surprises. Ask:

“Is Centered Youth Clinic & Consulting in network for my plan?”

“What’s my co-pay for a primary care/adolescent visit?”

“How much of my deductible is remaining?”

“Are behavioral health screens or immunizations covered?”

“Do I need pre-authorization or a referral?”

Do you bill secondary insurance?

If applicable, share your secondary policy details and we’ll help coordinate billing.

What if a service isn't covered?

We’ll review options and provide a clear self-pay price before proceeding.

Tips to Ensure a Smooth Visit

Bring your photo ID and insurance card to every visit.

-Tell us right away if your insurance changes.

-Balances are due at the time of service unless otherwise arranged.

-If your plan later denies a claim, any remaining balance becomes your responsibility.
